About Us

The Travel Guarantee Fund is a private, independent institution that is intended to assist customers if a travel provider is declared bankrupt. Moreover The Fund finances and provides secretariat services to a Complaints Board for travels.

The Fund was established in accordance with the Act of 1979. The latest Act is No 1192 of 8 December 2009. Read more about the Act here.

The organisation of the Fund

  • The board of directors:
    The board of directors of the Travel Guarantee Fund is appointed by the Minister for Business and Growth and consists of one chairman and six members: Susanne Larsen (chairman), Mads Mølgaard Braüner (Forbrugerrådet), Per Møller Jensen, Jens Loft Rasmussen (Dansk Cyklist Forbund), Henrik Specht (Rejsearrangører i Danmark), René Knudsen (HK Service Hovedstaden), Lars Thykier (Danmarks Rejsebureau Forening).

  • The secretariat:
    The board has engaged a secretariat to handle administration etc. The employees can be found here.

  • The articles:
    The articles of the Fund are laid down by the board of directors and approved by the Minister for Business and Growth. The articles - in Danish - can be found here.

  • The board of director's rules of procedure:
    The board's rules of procedure are laid down by the board and approved by the Minister for Business and Growth. The rules of procedure - in Danish - can be found here.

  • The annual report:
    Within six months of the expiry of a calendar year the Fund renders an annual report recounting the activities of the Fund, audited by the National Audit Office of Denmark, to the Minister for Business and Growth. The latest annual report - in Danish - can be found here.
